How to configure SNMP on Cisco

 

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a popular protocol for network management. It is used for collecting information from, and configuring, network devices, such as servers, printers, hubs, switches, and routers on an Internet Protocol (IP) network. SNMP use port number  161 and 162.

Configure SNMP  server

R1(config)#int e0/0

R1(config-if)#ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

R1(config)#snmp-server community test ro
