How to Install and Configure Zimbra Mail server in ubuntu

 

Zimbra Provide open source server for communicating and collaboration.It provides LDAP, antivirus, antispam, collaboration features and a ajax webmail client. Zimbra is easy to use for administrators as well as end users due to its fast Ajax based web interface

Minimum Requirement

OS-Ubuntu Server 14.04 64bit

Ram-8GB

Hard Drive: 25GB Free Space

Full access

Step 1:

Change Hosts File vi /etc/hosts

192.168.100.10 severxyz.local serverxyz

step 2:

Change Host name vi /etc/hostname

serverxyz.local

Step 3:

Install below Package from internet

apt-get install libgmp10 libperl5.18 unzip pax sysstat sqlite3 dnsmasq wget

Step 4:

Configure dnsmasq

vi /etc/dnsmasq.conf

server=192.168.100.10

domain=serverxyz.local

mx-host=serverxyz.local, mail.serverxyz.local, 5

mx-host=mail.serverxyz.local, mail.serverxyz.local, 5

listen-address=127.0.0.1

then reboot your machine.

Download Zimbra

wget https://files.zimbra.com/downloads/8.6.0_GA/zcs-8.6.0_GA_1153.UBUNTU14_64.20141215151116.tgz

tar -xvf zcs-8.6.0_GA_1153.UBUNTU14_64.20141215151116.tgz

cd zcs*

Install Zimbra

then select your package

Need Some time for Install Zimbra Package

then select 6 to configure admin password and other also. zimbra pop and imap, imaps,pops,https port by default 7110,7143,7993,7995,8080. our suggestion is please change this port to standard port like(110,143,993,995,80) . we only change admin password.

Save Your Setting

Finalize Zimbra

su – zimbra

zmcontrol status

then try to access zimbra mail https://192.168.100.10

For Admin panel

https://192.168.100.10:7071
