How to install SNMP server on centos

Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP) is a protocol that monitoring remote system in your network. SNMP uses UDP port 161 and 162 . in this article we share how to configure SNMP server on Centos.

First, install SNMP package

yum install net-snmp

second creat SNMP configure

mv /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf /etesnmp/

vim /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf

add ip address with snmp community that you want SNMP lookup

recommunity tenka

and save the configuration file

Finally, restart SNMP service

/etc/init.d/snmpd start
